Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and become a vital part of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges to live fulfilling, independent lives. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Support community engagement, recreational activities, and social opportunities. Assist with transportation to appointments, employment, educational programs, and community events. Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately. Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Monitor and report any changes in health, behavior, or wellbeing. Maintain compliance with company policies, state regulations, and Medicaid waiver requirements. Collaborate with families, case managers, and other members of the support team. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass background checks and drug screening. CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Compassionate, dependable, and committed to improving the lives of others.
