Job Description
Job Summary Daily Smiles is a Community Engagement program supporting adults with ID/DD waivers. 90% of the service is spent in the community, helping individuals build natural relationships and assisting with any routine supports. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to adult individuals with diverse needs, including intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance the quality of life for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your caregiving skills are valued and celebrated. Background checks are required. Responsibilities Administer medications, with valid certification, following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Ensure individuals are eating nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with purchasing food. Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, or community events to foster engagement and socialization. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Valid License and transportation. Must ensure safety while transporting individuals to various activities on the calendar. Skills Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and observe patient behavior for safety concerns Strong communication skills Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, and HIPAA privacy standards Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting individuals when needed.
