Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional Supervisor (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is vital in promoting the independence and well-being of our clients within their home and community settings. As a Supervisor you will engage with residents in a group home or home care environment, assisting them with daily living activities and fostering a supportive atmosphere that respects their rights and dignity. Assist the Program Manager with day to day operations at the group home. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Assist the Program Manager with day to day operations at the group home. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Support clients in community integration by facilitating participation in social, recreational, and educational activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by monitoring their health and behavior. Advocate for resident rights, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, including progress notes and incident reports. Collaborate with other team members to create a cohesive care environment. Prepare Monthly Staffing Schedule Prepare Monthly Meals Calendar Prepare Monthly Events Calendar Complete Quarterly and Annual Assessments Ensure staff is trained and adhere to company policies and procedures Qualifications Experience in long-term care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Previous experience in a management as a Caregiver or at a Group Home. Knowledge of caregiving practices, home health care, and resident rights is highly desirable. Ability to cook nutritious meals that cater to individual dietary needs. Familiarity with home community care practices and group home settings. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others achieve their personal goals.
