Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in daily activities and promoting their independence. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in various settings. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Monitor clients' health and well-being, ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and skill development. Support clients in achieving their personal goals and objectives as outlined in their individual support plans. Perform heavy lifting as required when assisting clients with mobility or physical tasks. Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to supervisory staff. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in patient care or direct support preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to administer medications safely and effectively as per prescribed guidelines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with clients, families, and team members. Capability to perform heavy lifting when necessary; physical stamina is essential for this role. A caring attitude coupled with patience, empathy, and respect for individuals' dignity.
