This position is essential for enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. The Direct Care Aide will work closely with clients who may have memory impairments, dementia, or other health challenges, delivering care that promotes dignity and respect. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Implement behavior management techniques to assist clients with challenging behaviors. Support clients in maintaining their independence while ensuring safety within their environment. Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual needs. Skills Experience or knowledge in memory care and dementia care practices is highly beneficial. Familiarity with home community care principles and direct support strategies for seniors. Ability to manage behaviors effectively within a group home or similar setting. Understanding of the physical and emotional needs of individuals requiring long-term care services. Proficiency in assisting with ADLs while promoting client dignity and independence. Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with clients, families, and team members. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
