Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and become a vital part of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this rewarding role, you will provide personalized support, foster positive behavior, and promote community engagement. This paid position offers opportunities for growth and the chance to develop valuable skills in caregiving, behavioral health, and social support. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Support communication efforts using techniques such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods Facilitate participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to enhance social skills and independence Collect data on progress and behavior to inform care plans and ensure consistent support strategies Administer medications following prescribed protocols when trained and authorized to do so Provide transportation using personal or agency vehicles to appointments, activities, or community events Assist with childcare responsibilities for individuals with developmental needs when applicable Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices is advantageous Experience in home and community care settings demonstrating caregiving skills and flexibility Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language or other alternative communication methods Familiarity with medication administration protocols and data collection techniques Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation duties Background in behavioral health fields is a plus but not required; training provided for qualified candidates Must be 21 years of age Join us to make a lasting impact through compassionate support, engaging activities, and empowering independence!
