In this role, you will provide essential support to senior individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. As a DSP, you will work closely with the individuals in residential and community environments. Your commitment to Human Rights and dignity will be paramount as you assist individuals in achieving their personal goals. Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) such as bathing , dressing , toileting , grooming , and meal preparation
• Support individuals in medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans .
• Observe and document patient behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
• Foster a supportive environment that promotes independence and encourages social interaction among residents.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Advocate for the individual's human rights and ensure a respectful and dignified approach to care.
• Assist individuals with transportation needs as required.
• Engage in recreational activities that enhance the quality of life for individuals under your care.

Experience Ideal candidates will possess experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and in long-term care settings.

Key qualifications include:

• Experience working with people with disabilities in various capacities (e.g., assisted living, residential or nursing homes).
• Knowledge of Human Rights , advocacy principles and Person-centered support services .
• Proficiency in patient/individual observation techniques.
• Understanding of medication administration protocols.
• Ability to maintain a compassionate demeanor while supporting clients through challenging situations. • Core skills in care giving
• Premium skills in first aid, patient observation, and assisted living
• Experience in working with individuals with disabilities (ratio 1:4)
• Knowledge of care plans and medication administration
• Ability to uphold Human RIghts and provide patient-centered care
• Background as a DSP, PCA, or a CNA in long-term care is essential; experience in human services is a plus
