Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The following shifts are available:

Morning Shift:

7 am to 3 pm

Evening Shift:

3 pm to 11 pm

Description:

We are a residential provider for individuals with intellectual disabilities and are based in Virginia Beach. We are currently looking for motivated, people oriented and caring persons to join our growing company.

Preferred Qualifications:

A year of experience as a Direct Support Professional or Care Giver/Home Health Aid. A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license. Must know how to cook, clean, and multitask. Must be willing to help individuals with daily hygiene, eating, exercise, etc. Possess excellent documentation skills. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must be able to pass a Social Services screening. Currently or previously First-Aid/CPR certified. Medication management/administration experience or certification.

Duties:

Reading, writing, and carrying out directions Charting or taking notes for others to review Providing companionship and supportive listening Reporting changes in the health or status of the individuals Taking vitals, height, and weight Performing activities of daily living Maintaining health equipment Responding to emergencies Administering medication Transporting individuals to their appointments Facilitating community and recreational outings Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
