In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance and support to a male client with developmental or intellectual disabilities, empowering him to live a fulfilling and independent life. Duties Assist client with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders. Support participation in community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and social engagements. Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of the client at all times. Encourage independence by teaching and reinforcing life skills based on the client's goals and abilities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, progress, and incidents in accordance with agency policies. Collaborate with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals to implement individualized support plans. Promote dignity, respect, choice, and self-esteem while providing quality care and support. Provide companionship and engage the client in meaningful activities that support personal growth and community integration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working with individuals with developmental, intellectual, or behavioral disabilities. Current DSP (Direct Support Professional) Certification required. Valid driver's license. Current automobile insurance required. Reliable transportation. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical ability to assist with mobility and routine caregiving tasks. Must be able to successfully pass a TB test. Must pass all required background checks and screenings. Experience with community engagement and skill-building activities preferred.
