Job Duties:
The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a P art-Time Direct Support Professional II (DSP) for in the West Neck unit for the Developmental Services Division. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
Duties:
Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants. Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant's Outcomes, Activities and Essential Supports within the quality and deadlines outlined in regulation and policy.by the end of shift. Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided. Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the program based on each participant's ISP. Administer medications as prescribed utilizing the 5 Rights of administration. Assist with and/or complete hygiene tasks to include, but are not limited to, showering, bathing, using the restroom, changing protective undergarments, brushing teeth, etc. Utilize safety and medical equipment as directed and trained by supervisory staff. Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments. Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring all participants receive a well-balanced meal a minimum of three times per day with a morning and afternoon snack option. Prepare or review the medication administration record prior to implementation to ensure all entries match the physician's orders and that all necessary medications are on-site, available, and appropriately labeled. Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities. Transport participants with the use of a city vehicle and/or personal vehicle (dependent on program and city vehicle availability). Uphold all confidentiality, Human Rights, and Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Rights at all times. Manage behavioral and crisis situations utilizing Therapeutic Options Techniques. Monitors the use and compliance of all financial ledgers being maintained at their assigned site or facility.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUM:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working with Intellectually Disabled and/or Developmentally Disabled (ID/DD) clients OR any combination of education and/or related experience. Must have a current and valid drivers license.
SPECIAL:
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required to meet operational needs.
Alpha I Status:
Positions within this class have been designated as Alpha I positions requiring employees to work during inclement weather, regardless of the Citys operational status.

V RS Contribution:
