This vibrant role is designed for passionate individuals eager to empower and support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. As a key member of our community-focused team, you will facilitate engaging activities, promote social inclusion, and assist clients in navigating their daily routines within their communities. Your energetic approach will help foster independence, build confidence, and create meaningful connections that enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other needs, assisting with daily activities and community outings. Facilitate participation in social, recreational, and educational activities that promote community engagement and personal growth. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, and medication administration when necessary. Support behavioral health and behavior management strategies to ensure positive interactions and safe environments. Collect data on client progress, activity participation, and behavioral responses to inform care plans and reporting requirements. Use effective communication skills to advocate for clients' needs and foster strong relationships with families, caregivers, and community partners. Drive company vehicles safely to transport clients to various community locations while adhering to all safety protocols . Requirements Experience as a Direct Support Professional Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or related conditions is highly preferred. Knowledge of behavioral health practices. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving in community settings. Strong behavioral management skills and experience implementing behavior support plans. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive safely in various environments. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Previous experience in home & community care or human services is advantageous. Ability to collect accurate data and maintain detailed documentation of services provided. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and client needs ; enthusiasm for helping others thrive.
