https://wcathome.com/ (https://wcathome.com/) As a Personal Care Aide (PCA ), you will provide routine, scheduled personal care services to clients on the Westminster-Canterbury campus as well as to others in the greater community. Provide bathing, grooming and assistance with activities of daily living, light housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and accompanying clients to appointments. What You'll Do In This Role Provide routine, scheduled personal care to the client, including bathing (tub, shower, sponge, or bed bath), oral hygiene, hair care, shampooing, shaving, skin care, nail care, foot care, and dressing. Assist clients with mobility, including walking, transferring, turning, and positioning including the use of transfer devices such as the Hoyer lift and transfer board. Assist clients with prescribed exercises to which the client and the aide have been trained. Assist with toileting needs, including assistance with bedpan, urinal, bedside commode, toilet use and incontinence care. Plan, shop, prepare, or assist with nutritious meals and prescribed diets; includes cleanup of kitchen area. Assist clients to self-administer-medications. Verbally prompt or assist clients to respond to electronic medication reminder systems. Provide homemaking services, such as bed making, light housework, laundering, and errand running with client/family's agreement or accompanying client to medical appointments as specified on Care Plan. Ability to drive to clients homes throughout the community (mileage reimbursement provided) Observe, report, and document client status and the care or service furnished. Perform other activities as assigned including but not limited to reading and recording, temperature, pulse, and respiration, Foley catheter care, basic infection control procedures; and emergency procedures and grooming All other duties as assigned. Core Competencies Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and professional interactions. Showing understanding, patience, and a caring attitude, especially during difficult moments Being dependable, trustworthy, punctual, and respectful of client privacy Physical Requirements Must be able to walk up at least 2 flights of stairs and be able to stand and/or walk for a period of at least 4 hours Be able to lift 25 pounds Be able to transfer patients safely from bed to chair. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, push, pull and reposition clients Using hands and fingers to grasp, move, or maneuver small objects (during grooming or feeding) The Experience You'll Bring Required Highschool Diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old PCA Certification Personal cell phone that you agree to use for work related communications Valid, unrestricted driver's license Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Driving Record and Insurance Receiving seasonal flu vaccination Preferred One year of supervised nursing assistant experience
Compensation:
$16.40/hour
