Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Care Assistant, where your compassionate nature and proactive attitude will directly enhance patient experiences and outcomes. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to medical staff and assist patients across various care settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and post-acute care facilities. Duties Assist nursing staff with patient assessments, vital signs, and basic care activities to support treatment plans. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, fostering a caring environment. Help with patient mobility, positioning, and transfers to ensure safety and comfort. Support clinical procedures by preparing supplies and assisting during examinations or treatments. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, observations, and care activities in compliance with hospital protocols. Ensure cleanliness and organization of patient areas, including bedsides, treatment rooms, and common spaces. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care across various departments such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or surgical units. Follow infection control policies rigorously to protect patients and staff in high-acuity environments like Level I Trauma Centers or emergency departments. Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current with hospital medicine practices and emergency procedures. Skills Proven experience working in Level II trauma centers or similar high-acuity settings such as emergency medicine or hospital medicine. Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and inpatient care protocols. Familiarity with outpatient clinics, post-acute care environments, or sub-acute care settings. Experience supporting specialized units like Geriatrics or OR (Operating Room). Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and engage with diverse patient populations. Demonstrated compassion, patience, and professionalism when providing direct patient assistance.
