Join our team as a Life Skills Instructor (DSP) and support individuals with developmental disabilities in living independent, fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities. About the Role As a DSP in a Supported Living program, you will provide person-centered support to clients receiving services through the Developmental Disabilities Community Services. You will assist individuals in achieving their personal goals, maintaining independence, and actively participating in their communities. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and support based on each client's Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP) Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks Support community integration, including outings, appointments, and social activities Implement behavior support strategies and follow Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) as needed Administer medications in accordance with state regulations and company policy Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with WAC and DDCS requirements Promote client dignity, choice, and independence at all times Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and interdisciplinary professionals Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred (but not required - we will train the right candidate) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and professional in all situations Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background check and meet DDA employment requirements What We Offer Competitive pay Paid training and ongoing professional development Opportunities for career advancement Supportive team environment The chance to make a meaningful difference in someone's life every day
