Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with occasional Saturday programming (Fun on the Farm) and weekday support! In this vital role, you'll empower individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges to live fulfilling, independent lives. As a DSP, you'll participate in Saturday activities occasionally and provide consistent, compassionate support during the week. Your energy and commitment will foster a positive environment where each individual can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in caregiving, behavioral health, and community engagement. Responsibilities Help with Saturday programming activities designed to promote social skills, independence, and fun for individuals with disabilities. Provide direct support during weekday hours, assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), medication administration, and behavioral management strategies. Support individuals with communication needs by utilizing communication tools. Assist with transportation needs by safely driving clients to and from home, community outings, or recreational activities. Collect and document data related to individual progress, behavior patterns, and activity participation to inform care plans. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure personalized care plans are followed effectively. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health guidelines, supporting medication administration protocols, and implementing behavior management techniques. Help with other duties as assigned by the Director. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health challenges. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to create and plan activities for two special "fun on the farm" Saturdays/month. Ability to assist with ADLs such as assisting in the restroom and feeding. School and community care experience that demonstrates adaptability in various settings. Valid driving license with a clean record for safe transportation duties; willingness to drive as needed. Compassionate caregiving approach combined with patience and positive reinforcement techniques. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
