Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those served, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, implementing care plans, and fostering an environment of respect and independence. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and document patients' vital signs, health status, and behavioral changes in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide medication administration under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety. Support clients during meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning tailored to their needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in residents' living spaces. Observe patient behavior closely to identify any health concerns or safety risks, providing timely reports to healthcare teams. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, group homes, or home & community care environments. Knowledge of patient care techniques including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and autism support. Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and behavioral assessments. Experience with medication administration, care plans development, and vital signs measurement. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster respectful relationships with clients and team members.
