Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with various disabilities and health conditions. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting independence, safety, and well-being through personalized assistance. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve by delivering attentive, respectful, and comprehensive care. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their condition to ensure safety and well-being. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards. Document patient progress accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding changes or concerns. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication management, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or autism support is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; patience and adaptability are essential. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex health needs is preferred.
