Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering independence, promoting well-being, and enhancing quality of life for those served. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and implementing personalized care plans in a respectful and empathetic manner. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medication as prescribed, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition aligned with dietary plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces. Utilize appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges. Follow established care plans meticulously while respecting each individual's preferences, dignity, and independence. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, group homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills including CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with medication administration procedures and HIPAA privacy standards. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist residents with mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Experience working with individuals with autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
