With a team of passionate professionals, we serve a diverse population including adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors, individuals recovering from injury or illness, and those with complex care needs. Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and complex care needs by providing personalized support that promotes independence, safety, and quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and fostering a respectful, nurturing environment. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Provide patient observation to monitor health status, vital signs, and behavioral changes. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences. Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through regular cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and safety. Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfer and mobility assistance. Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments. Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, or hospice care is highly valued. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, vital signs measurement, medication management, and developing or following individualized care plans is essential. Additional qualifications include CPR and First Aid certification, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and experience handling heavy lifting or working with residents requiring specialized memory or dementia care. A background in nursing home or long-term care settings is advantageous; strong interpersonal skills in social work or caregiving roles are also preferred.
