Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, fostering their independence and enhancing their well-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve through attentive caregiving and community engagement. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor health status by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams. Support medication administration and ensure adherence to care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques during patient mobility activities. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills such as CPR and first aid certification. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or Alzheimer's care is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts effectively. Strong communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and a respectful approach to caregiving. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; additional training in hospice or memory care is a plus.
