Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with varying needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to promoting independence, safety, and well-being. This role involves working closely with clients to support their daily activities, monitor health status, and foster an environment of respect and empowerment. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, reporting concerns promptly. Support medication administration following prescribed guidelines while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers. Document care activities accurately in care plans and communicate effectively with team members regarding client progress. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory care needs preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically assist clients as needed while maintaining safety standards. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving and social work principles. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
