Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with various needs, promoting their well-being and independence within their homes and communities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent observational skills, and the ability to foster a safe and supportive environment. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Support medication administration and monitor vital signs as required, ensuring adherence to care plans. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote social engagement and mental well-being. Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and laundry. Observe and document changes in residents' health status, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus. Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety oversight. Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility tasks. Excellent communication skills coupled with compassion and patience for working with diverse populations.
