Job Description

be able to pass a background check. Job Summary Provide assistance to people who are at least 60 years of age and live in Ohio County and Marshall County, WV. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Non Medical In-home Health/Direct Care Workers to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those needing personal care and support within a home setting. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as trained Prepare meals according to dietary needs and assist with meal reminders Monitor and track health related changes Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance emotional well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and cleaning duties Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals and document care provided accurately Recognize and respond appropriately to behavioral issues or medical emergencies, including first aid if required Communicate effectively with family members, case managers, and healthcare providers while respecting HIPAA regulations Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home health preferred; experience working with the aging population is a plus Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and hospice care is a plus Valid driver's license and transportation (others cannot drive you to the clients home due to HIPPA and the public transportation will limit your hours due the bus schedule) Certification in First Aid and CPR required or willingness to obtain upon hire Familiarity with plan of cares, HIPAA compliance, and home health protocols preferred Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. All applicants must pass a WV Cares background check before they may be considered for employment.
