Basic Duties and Responsibilities Lead daily laboratory activities independently to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely. Develop and maintain quality control practices. Work alongside management on method development and troubleshooting. Properly receive and log all incoming samples. Follow standard operating procedures for all testing parameters. Prepares standards and reagents required for proper calibration of instrumentation. Perform laboratory instrument calibrations and routine maintenance. Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs of laboratory instrumentation. Prepares analytical reports and properly communicates any off-spec results with management. Conduct inventory and/or purchasing of laboratory consumables. Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned. Properly move and handle compressed gas cylinders. Participate in quarterly laboratory safety audits. Adhere to all applicable Health and Safety rules and regulations within the facility and laboratory. Wear PPE as required by the facility. Function in an industrial environment adjacent to plant operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Laboratory Safety & Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Knowledge of gas chromatography (GC using ECD), inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES), physical testing, flash point testing, wet chemistry, etc. Experience with EPA and other regulatory methods. Proficiency with Microsoft, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Access. Experience with Chromeleon and Syngistix software preferred but not required. Basic Requirements and Qualifications 4-6 years of experience working in a laboratory environment. >1 year experience instrument maintenance. Associate or bachelors degree in chemistry or related field, preferred.

Work hours:

8am 5 pm, may vary upon request. Ability to work a 12-hour shift, if needed. Valicor offers competitive pay based on experience and a great "Referral Program".
