Accessioner Tsela Scientific Laboratories Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications Computer literacy High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Laboratory Accessioner Birmingham, AL PCR-Dx of Alabama is a COLA accredited clinical diagnostics laboratory located in Birmingham, Alabama. We perform toxicology screening and confirmation using state of the art techniques such as LC-MS/MS and Automated Immunoassay. Our lab also specializes in pharmacogenetic testing to analyze a person's genes to help healthcare providers find the best medication and dosage. We are growing and looking for either a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and verify patient specimens and test requisitions for completeness and accuracy. Accession and label specimens in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and routing to appropriate testing areas. Communicate with collection sites or healthcare providers to resolve missing or unclear information. Maintain organized records and specimen logs. Adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and standard precautions for handling biological specimens. Follow all safety, confidentiality, and compliance protocols (including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA). Support laboratory operations by assisting with clerical duties and maintaining supplies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college-level science coursework preferred. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, medical office, or specimen processing environment is a plus. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently. Basic computer skills and comfort using data entry systems. Team-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
