In this role, you will support the daily operations of the laboratory by managing specimen collection, processing samples, and assisting with various laboratory procedures. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring accurate results and maintaining a safe, efficient lab environment. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical and research laboratory settings while developing essential skills in laboratory management and techniques. Responsibilities Assist with specimen collection, processing, and documentation to ensure sample integrity and proper handling Support laboratory management by maintaining organized records, inventory, and equipment calibration logs Attendance is very important! Perform basic laboratory techniques such as venipuncture (blood draws), catheterization procedures, and spinal taps under supervision Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during sample handling and laboratory procedures Contribute to research or clinical projects by preparing samples, recording data accurately, and assisting with experimental setups Ensure compliance with safety protocols including proper disposal of biohazardous materials and adherence to hospital or research facility guidelines Support the training of new team members on laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge as needed Skills Strong understanding of laboratory management practices and procedures Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain sterile environments during sample handling Experience with clinical or research laboratories, including familiarity with medical or veterinary terminology Ability to perform catheterization procedures and spinal taps accurately and safely Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred for emergency response readiness Familiarity with physiology, anatomy, pediatrics, and veterinary terminology enhances versatility in diverse settings Excellent organizational skills for managing laboratory records, inventory, and safety documentation Join us to be part of a vibrant team committed to advancing healthcare through meticulous laboratory work.
