Lab Technician Petroleum (Onsite)

Performance Personnel Services (PPS) is actively seeking a Petroleum Lab Technician to join our client's team on-site in Chickasaw AL. Position Overview The Lab Technician is responsible for performing numerous and varied tests according to ASTM methods. This position involves working inside a complex and sophisticated laboratory facility alongside a team of skilled chemists and technicians.

Shift/Schedule:

Rotating shifts, including days and nights Responsibilities Perform chemical and physical tests based on ASTM methods or accepted industry standards. Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Clean glassware and test equipment as needed. Prepare reagents and maintain accurate lab records. Enter test data into the LIMS system and maintain quality documentation. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Participate in cross-training and team-based tasks.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Ability to multi-task in a high-production testing environment. Strong math, observation, and data-entry skills. Familiarity with LIMS applications and standard lab processes. Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail. Ability to follow standard and non-standard testing procedures. Experience using laboratory instrumentation and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Willingness to work overtime as business needs dictate. Ability to lift/carry up to 49 lbs and stand for extended periods. Prior experience handling chemicals in a lab environment.

Preferred:

High school diploma or GED. Prior petroleum or industrial lab experience is a plus.
