Full Job Description Position Summary:
Position Summary Performs moderately complex general laboratory testing in the area(s) of licensure under the direction of a Medical Technologist.
SHIFT:
Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Core Lab 11AM-7:30
PM Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results within established timeframes. Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability. Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions. Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies. Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver. Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor. Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Training Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician. Associate degree in related field. Licensure/Certification Current Alabama license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician by Alabama Department of Health. Certified in area(s) of laboratory where assigned. Experience None.
