Summary:
Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with limited supervision. The MLT's job includes preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the clinician to utilize the data when making treatment decisions.
Other information:
Associates in Medical Laboratory Technician from a nationally accredited program. National Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred. Must be registry eligible. Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures. Must be able to effectively present gathered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies. Must possess good communication skills with the public and other hospital staff. Must be willing to work at multiple campuses if assigned. This job will be authorized 0.01 hours bi-weekly.
