ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Assemble testing kits for collections Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures Verifies patient identification, verifies all tests ordered and completes all required demographic data and requisitions Contacts client to retrieve any missing data including tracing Maintains a clean & safe work environment Understands compliance protocols and (PHI/HIPAA) Notifies their Site Manager of any incidents or issues immediately Unpack and route specimens to their respective Laboratory section Ensures all patient specimens received match the corresponding requisitions and are in compliance with receiving guidelines Accurately entering patient information into the LIS system Adhere to quality control guidelines to ensure integrity of laboratory specimens and accurate data entry Provides a smooth workflow within the laboratory that facilitates the accurate and timely accessioning of cases received and forwarding them on to the appropriate laboratory section for testing Follows proper incident procedures in the event of an accident, specimen breakage, specimen spill, and patient injury Complies with OSH and DEP regulations regarding barrier protection, sharps disposal, hazardous waste disposal (retaining manifests), and proper specimen transport Completes annual training and completes continuing education training Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma 1 year of related experience in a clinical laboratory Strong time management, work ethic, critical thinking, and analytical skills with high detail orientationSCHEDULE
This is an overnight shift only, hours are: Monday 10:00PM- > Tuesday 6:00AM Tuesday 10:00PM
