Job Description

About the
Role:
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and hands‑on Lab Technician to support our laboratory. This role plays an important part in both our existing operations and our development of new business through lab‑scale experimentation and operational QA/QC work. The ideal candidate is experienced with metallurgical, analytical, and sample preparation equipment, and is motivated by accurate testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Following health and safety standards.
  • Ability to read SDS data
  • Maintaining a clean work area
  • Follow Standard operating procedures
  • Packaging samples for customers and outside laboratories
  • Reporting any issues to the supervisor on duty.
  • Working safely
  • Performing other tasks as assigned.
  • Perform lab‑scale metallurgical experiments to support R&D efforts and new business initiatives.
  • Conduct QA/QC testing on samples from current production processes.
  • Prepare samples using metallurgical and analytical preparation techniques.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Accurately document procedures, observations, and results in accordance with internal quality standards.
  • Support lab housekeeping, equipment calibration, and safety compliance.
Requirements:
Sample materials on site with exposure to all weather conditions Demonstrated ability to follow written work instructions in a lab. Must be able to stand for extended periods the duration of shift; including stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach with hands, pull, lift, push, pick-up. Clean work areas. Knowledge of safety protocols. Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus. Regular attendance and punctuality. Able to multitask. Prior Lab experience required Knowledge of LECO analytical instrument a plus. Knowledge of research and development or pilot plants a plus. Experience with chemicals and or wastewater a plus. Experience with data reporting and storage required Flexible hours 20-25 hours per week, with the possibility of more hours in the future

Part-time Schedule:
Monday to Friday Flexible hours between 8am-4pm
Supplemental Pay:
Bonus pay -End of year bonus.
Education:
High school or equivalent required, some further education (Preferred)
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
