Lab Technician Valence Analytical Anaheim, CA Job Details Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Math Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Organizational skills Chemistry Full Job Description Position Overview As an Analytical Chemistry Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in our daily laboratory operations. You will be responsible for preparing samples, operating advanced analytical instrumentation (primarily HPLC/UHPLC and Mass Spectrometry), and documenting results to support our peptide testing pipeline. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on chemist looking to deepen their expertise in chromatography and biomolecule analysis.
Key Responsibilities Sample & Mobile Phase Preparation:
Accurately weigh samples, prepare chemical solutions, buffers, and mobile phases according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Instrument Operation:
Run routine analytical testing on peptides using HPLC, UHPLC, and LC-MS .
Data Collection & Documentation:
Accurately record experimental data, maintain precise laboratory notebooks, and input results into our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
Routine Maintenance:
Perform basic calibration, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on analytical instruments.
Inventory & Safety:
Monitor laboratory supplies, manage chemical waste disposal, and strictly adhere to all safety, OSHA, and chemical hygiene protocols.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory environment (academic lab experience or internships accepted).
Technical Skills:
• Hands-on experience with HPLC or UHPLC instrumentation is highly desirable. Familiarity with peptide chemistry, amino acid analysis, or mass spectrometry is a strong plus. Strong mathematical skills for calculating dilutions, concentrations, and molarities.
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
