Carlsbad, California job type: Contract salary: $25 - 27 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: High School responsibilities: The Research technician will be a part of the M4Ward™ Team in Carlsbad supporting the experimental products M4Ward™program. The M4Ward team works closely with the R D, Production, Quality Control and Engineering teams. Emptying and inspecting chemical containers.

Cleaning various containers, valves, and parts that have previous held chemicals.

Support and help maintain a current chemical inventory.

Maintain a clean and efficient lab environment by supporting 6S (continuous improvement).Equipment maintenance.
Physical Attributes:
Wearing full face air-purifying respirator, chemical resistant apron, and other PPE.Lifting to 50 pounds.

Standing, sitting, or walking for up to 8 hours.

Raising arms up to and possibly above 90-degree angle.
qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school Diploma or GED with 5+ years experienceAssociates Degree (Chemistry or related fields) with 1-3 years experienceBachelors (Chemistry or related science) with 1-year experience; Bachelors (Chemistry) with no experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior chemistry lab experience handling organics materials, inorganic materials, acids and bases.

Experience with safely handling and moving containers, potentially weighing up to 50 pounds, and removing chemical other material in the container.

Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and technical drawings.

A very strong emphasis and focus on safety, attention to detail, and quality.

Experience in working in a glovebox, chemical fume hoods, and acid sinks.

Strong communicator both written verbal and written.

SAP Experience a plus.
