You'll be a key member of the product development team, bringing to production Rivian's next generation of Propulsion Electric Machines and Traction Inverters. You'll be responsible for Electric Motor tear-downs, Builds, Test instrumentation. You'll be responsible for Dynamometer and Motor Lab maintenance, repair, test setups and operation of the high-speed electric machine dynamometers. You'll be a key member of the product development team, bringing to production Rivian's next generation of Propulsion Electric Machines and Traction Inverters You'll be responsible for Dynamometer and Motor Lab maintenance, repair, test setups, and operation of the high-speed electric machine dynamometers.

dyne experience preferred Support Dyne and Motor Lab Engineers in identifying potential improvements of test methods, practices, and work with a team of engineers on continuous improvement of electric drive systems Design and fabricate Dyne and Motor mechanical fixtures and setups Install, operate, and maintain laboratory test equipment and instrumentation Troubleshoot, root cause, document test data, and report results from lab tests Procure necessary tools, equipment, and components for the Dyne / Motor Lab Utilize standard tools such as drill motors, soldering irons, calipers, grinders, and multimeters with no direction Use instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters Ability to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; additionally, Google Workspace Perform occasional moderate lifting Maintain good housekeeping and safe practices 6+ years of experience performing Dyne and Motor testing and fabricating special test equipment for automotive powertrain systems preferred Experience working with experimental products, components, and equipment where work duties follow established standards, specifications, and instructions Understanding and experience with

Dyne systems, National Instruments VeriStand or similar software to operate dynes Background in a Motor Lab or Engine Lab, operation and understanding of dynamometers, motor mechanical designs, and electrical test equipment setups, testing, and processes Experience using basic machine shop equipment and processes High level of interpersonal and communication skills Work effectively with teams in a fast-paced development environment Willing to work flexible hours and passionate about getting jobs done Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed Safety is the number one priority
