Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Lab Assistant 1 to support ongoing projects in Dr. Ting Zhao and Dr. Yan Hong's joint lab. We use mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cell models to study Alzheimer's disease and Schizophrenia. Primary responsibilities include preparing standardized media, reagents, and solutions from established formulas; setting up simple laboratory apparatus; and assisting supervisors in maintaining a clean, organized laboratory environment; washing glassware and autoclaving; picking up lab packages. Additionally, this position includes some hands-on lab work, such as assisting supervisor in mouse genotyping by following established, recurring protocols. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. The full salary range for the Lab Assistant 1 is $25.75. - $30.17 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $25.75 - $26.79 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
