Job Description
Simulation and Dental Laboratory Operations Coordinator Primary Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the Pacific Health Care Collaborative (PHCC) director, performs duties related to the instruction of predoctoral students.Essential Functions:
Support preclinical courses in the Department of Clinical Oral Healthcare through active participation in laboratory exercises; provide instructional material (lectures) to students on laboratory procedures and management. Produce and maintain training aids; coordinate the fabrication of stone cast for the preclinical courses. Provide logistic support in preclinical classes. Establish and maintain quality assurance of all clinical cases entering and leaving the professional services laboratory; coordinate laboratory quality control according to established departmental policies and procedures. Maintain material safety data sheet/binder; update the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist as needed. Aid students in troubleshooting clinical cases. Maintain accurate quality control records and provide an annual report. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs, Assistant Director and the Director of the PHCC. High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited two-year dental laboratory technology program. Minimum five (5) years experience as Dental Technician. Minimum one (1) year teaching laboratory dental technology.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Basic oral anatomy. Dental materials.Ability to:
Construct and explain prosthesis, specifically fixed, removable, and implant prosthesis. Monitor student's clinical design and quality control of clinical cases for adherence to departmental criteria. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and vendors. Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Certified Dental Technician (CDT) Supplemental courses in teaching and fixed prosthodontics and related fields desireable. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.Physical Requirements:

Work is performed during standard business hours. Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for university business.
