Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Assists with antigen negative RBCs inventory, equipment maintenance, reagent management, and other duties as assigned in the Reference Laboratory and Quality Control Laboratory. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists with management of antigen negative RBCs inventory.
2. Assists with reagent management.
3. Receives and stocks supplies.
4. Assists with department phone calls.
5. Assists with equipment maintenance.
6. Assists with management of in-house red blood cells and antisera.
7. Assists with management of adsorbing RBCs.
8. Assists in tagging and verifying donor units.
9. Assists in importing units.
10. Assists with ARDP duties.
11. Accessions incoming requests.
12. Assists with HLA platelet requests.
13. Assists with send-out requests.
14. Pulls tubes for molecular testing.
15. Obtains samples for testing.
16. Assists in preparing worksheets for testing.
17. Accessions pre-platelet samples.
18. Assists in filing of department paperwork.
19. Assists with transfusion service activities.
20. Performs other duties as assigned in the Reference Laboratory and Quality Control Laboratory. CUSTOMER INTERACTION/PROBLEM-SOLVING

The supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines, assisting the employee with unusual situations with no clear precedents. Completed work is evaluated for soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy. LifeStream is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) comprehensive blood center serving more than 80 medical facilities in Southern California. Based on the need for a readily available blood supply, LifeStream was established by the medical societies of San Bernardino and Riverside counties and has been helping to save lives by connecting donors and patients through the gift of blood since June 19, 1951. Healthy volunteer blood donors are needed for surgery and trauma patients, transplant recipients, premature infants and cancer patients. To meet emergency and ongoing patient need, LifeStream must receive at least 500 donations daily in order to support 175,000 transfusions annually. Multiple blood drives are held daily at business sites, churches, government agencies, high schools, colleges and civic organizations. In addition, LifeStream operates four donor centers located in San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, La Quinta and Victorville. POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist provides support and direction in application of Human Resources policies and procedures in a consistent, fair, and legal manner. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to leaves of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management, referring more complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. 2. Investigate, review and document employee complaints, including claims of discrimination and harassment. 3. Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Review and assess corrective action and termination requests. Ensure proper documentation is provided and processed appropriately. 4. Administer and maintain Leaves of Absence, the transitional work program, and accommodation process per company, state and federal guidelines. 5. Manage workers' compensation claims including regular communication with injured employee, industrial clinic medical personnel, management staff, and insurance claims adjusters to ensure effective monitoring and handling of claims. 6. Respond to unemployment insurance claim inquiries and attend hearings as necessary. 7. Provide pro-active planning, day-to-day solutions and HR guidance to managerial and non-managerial staff members, keeping within the scope of laws, regulations and policies. 8. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 9. Conduct or acquire background checks and employee/volunteer eligibility verifications and manage proper communications/responses when background checks are questionable 10. Provide support as needed in staff recruitment process. 11. Provide support as needed in benefits administration. 12. Provide support in other administrative duties, such as data collection, HRM data entry, report writing, employee badges, employee files and filing, etc. 13. Conduct employee training programs including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, harassment prevention, leadership development, etc. 14. Perform audit and compliance functions as requested. 15. Administer and track employee licenses and certifications via Paycom and hard copies as needed. 16. Run monthly reports from Paycom such as Activity Report, New Hires, Terminations, Employee Contact Information, etc. 17. Other duties as assigned. CUSTOMER INTERACTION/PROBLEM-SOLVING
