Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician supports applications development by preparing samples, performing analytical tests, and accurately documenting results. This role focuses on die bonding applications, process optimization, and basic failure analysis while working with microscopic components and maintaining high standards of quality and repeatability. Responsibilities Prepare metal samples for applications development and perform analytical tests according to established procedures. Record data and observations accurately and prepare clear summaries of experiments. Perform die bonding applications using both manual and automated methods. Troubleshoot basic process issues and escalate complex problems appropriately. Conduct parameter optimization and support failure analysis activities to improve processes and yield. Handle microscopic components using microscopes, tweezers, vacuum tools, and other fine instruments. Document processes thoroughly, maintain accurate records, and support process control initiatives. Perform basic troubleshooting to maintain process repeatability and yield. Log process data using computer-based tools and follow standard operating procedures. Collaborate effectively with team members, follow instructions, and communicate findings and issues clearly. Maintain a strong focus on quality, documentation, and adherence to lab protocols. Essential Skills Minimum of 1+ years of industry experience in a related field. Technical certification or degree in a related field (chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, and material science are preferred). Background in materials testing, metals work, quality control, or laboratory experience. Experience with chemistry, sample preparation, and working with metals. Ability to perform manual and automated die bonding applications. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to log process data. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, follow instructions, and communicate clearly. Hands-on approach with good time management skills. Strong attention to detail with a focus on process control, documentation, and maintaining quality. Ability to stand, reach, use fine tools, and occasionally lift small weights or handle assemblies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as Minitab is a plus. Experience in quality control processes within a lab or manufacturing environment. Comfort working with microscopes, tweezers, and vacuum tools for handling microscopic components. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot basic process issues and support failure analysis. Interest in process optimization and continuous improvement within a lab setting. Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory environment that emphasizes collaboration, support, and a strong team culture. You will work with microscopes, fine tools, and lab equipment to handle microscopic components and perform die bonding and analytical testing. The position requires standing, reaching, and using fine tools, with occasional lifting of small weights or assemblies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
