Working under supervision, this is an intermediate level position assigned to different operations and service departments.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor, clean, and maintain the following: hood traps, incubators (fill as needed), water baths
- Assist team with content transfers in the instances of cold storage unit failures.
- Monitor and dump waste containers.
- Buffer preparation
- Maintain LN2 Freezer Pro and Cold Storage contact records (updated annually)
- Glass wash/autoclave, stocking and replenishment of clean/sterilized materials as needed.
- Work with team to close out workspaces of former employees (cold storage, bench, etc.) and prepare for inbound hires.
- Maintain service tickets in the lab equipment service system for all lab equipment needs. Interface with group and scientists to ensure service is completed and documented appropriately.
- Submit and follow-through on all tickets for printer issues.
- General lab housekeeping (lab clean outs, cardboard removal, etc.)
- Process all pipettes for annual pipette calibration.
Job Knowledgeable Training:
- Trained in safe hazardous waste handling of bio bins/bio-waste disposal.
- Trained in cleaning and maintaining Decon equipment.
- Basic knowledge of building & lab management systems.
- Alarm monitoring and management.
- Basic inventory and tool safety.
- Monitoring automations systems.
- Escort vendors and contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pre-Hire
Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
- Six months prior work experience in a related work environment, illustrating good attendance, professional behavior, reliability.
- Ability to follow orders given orally and in writing.
- Ability to complete tasks and paperwork with basic supervision.
- Computer skills (i.
e., excel, word, outlook)
Physical Qualifications:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladder, and perform various types of manual labor.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Vision (with correction) sufficient for reading, performing repairs and painting.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work vary according to the business demands.
