Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a motivated Lab Technician I to support physical testing activities for medical devices and combination products in a cGMP laboratory environment. This fully onsite role supports research and development, product verification, complaint investigations, and stability programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on laboratory work, and is committed to maintaining high quality and compliance standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership:
Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and collaboration. Develop the ability to influence outcomes through sound technical judgment and professional reasoning. Participate actively in team meetings, projects, and process improvement initiatives.
Technical Responsibilities:
Perform a broad range of basic to moderately complex physical tests supporting laboratory operations. Conduct testing of routine and non-routine medical device and combination product samples. Perform routine laboratory maintenance and equipment upkeep. Order, track, and maintain laboratory supply inventory. Perform sample filling, decontamination activities, and assist with complaint investigations. Receive and provide training on laboratory procedures and testing methods. Coordinate daily activities with laboratory supervisors to support operational goals. Identify technical issues and support troubleshooting and resolution efforts. Participate in project teams and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality. Resolve routine issues with appropriate management guidance and approval. Adhere to cGMP requirements, laboratory procedures, and documentation standards. Maintain on-time completion of assigned testing activities and laboratory deliverables. Perform additional duties as assigned to support Quality and laboratory operations.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 0-5 years of laboratory, quality, manufacturing, or testing experience. Basic knowledge of scientific theories, laboratory practices, and physical testing procedures. Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while keeping management informed of progress. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a regulated environment. Proficiency with laboratory documentation and data recording practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another scientific discipline. Experience working in a cGMP, medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environment. Familiarity with medical device testing, quality systems, and complaint investigations. Experience supporting verification, stability, or R D testing programs.

Months Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a laboratory setting. Daily interaction with laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and medical device samples.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual manipulation of samples. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand, sit, and perform laboratory activities for extended periods.
Safety Considerations:
Exposure to laboratory chemicals and materials may occur. Use of laboratory glassware, needles, and syringes is required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including laboratory coats, safety glasses, and other protective equipment, may be required.
