Job Description

job summary: A Top-Tier Global Pharma Leader is seeking a high-energy Research Associate to join a newly established laboratory in San Francisco, CA. This is a 100% onsite, 1-year contract role focused on automated scientific workflows and platform operations. This position is ideal for candidates with strong laboratory fundamentals who are eager to master specialized automated systems in a fast-paced environment.

South San Francisco, California job type: Contract salary: $33.00 - 34.39 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelors responsibilities: Operate and troubleshoot specialized laboratory equipment and high-throughput automation instrumentation. Create and refine technical protocols and scripts within automation software. Execute deadline-driven workflows in real-time, including HTQC using LC-MS to verify compound mass and purity. Perform routine Quality Control (QC), equipment calibration, and general laboratory housekeeping to ensure operational excellence. Coordinate work plans and adhere to strict timelines while maintaining independent productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety compliance and high-quality results.
qualifications:
Required:
B.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline. 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment (industry preferred; strong academic lab experience considered). Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and automation. Willingness to work 100% onsite and use PPE daily. Proven stability and consistency in prior employment.
Preferred:
Experience with liquid handling automation (Hamilton VANTAGE, Agilent Bravo, or Beckman Echo). Proficiency in automation software (Hamilton VENUS, Agilent VWorks, or Titian Mosaic). Experience operating Waters LC-MS equipment. #LI-CV1 skills: Liquid Chromatography (LC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
