Job Description

Overview
JOB SUMMARY
Performs venipuncture/skin puncture on patients of all ages for the purpose of obtaining a blood specimen for laboratory testing. Accessions specimens into the laboratory LIS. Processes and distributes specimens to the testing areas of the lab. Prepares specimens for referral to reference labs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
One year previous venipuncture experience in an acute care facility is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Employee must demonstrate age specific competencies for the specific work area in which the employee works and cares for patients.
License and Certifications:
CDPH - California State certification required.
Equipment:
Specimen collection devices, Computer, Centrifuge.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the essential physical requirments of the job as noted in the job description.
PAY RANGE
$21.00 - $29.12 The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate's relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate's individual experience.
