A Global Life Sciences Leader is seeking an Assistant Lab Technician to join their dynamic team in West Sacramento, CA. This contract role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment, ideal for an organized professional ready to contribute to cutting-edge clinical trial testing.

West Sacramento, California job type: Contract work hours: 9 to 5 education: High School responsibilities: Receive, verify, log, and QC incoming biohazardous specimens against intake documents and manifests. Accurately enter specimen data into LIMS and assign unique accession numbers to ensure proper downstream workflow tracking. Centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare samples for testing or external shipment while maintaining strict chain of custody. Inspect specimen packaging and collaborate with program management to quickly resolve processing or documentation discrepancies. Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of experience as a Receiving and Accessioning Technician, or an equivalent mix of education and laboratory experience. Minimum of 2 years of dedicated Customer Service experience. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of handling and working with potentially biohazardous specimens. High attention to detail with an understanding of regulatory compliance and medical terminology.
Preferred:
Associate degree (AA or AS) in a scientific discipline.
