Assistant Lab Technician Sample Receiving & Accessioning Location:
West Sacramento, CA 95605 |

Contract About the Role Join a dynamic laboratory team as an Assistant Lab Technician focused on the vital processes of specimen receiving and accessioning. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant handling of samples for clinical and research testing. This is an excellent opportunity to build your laboratory career, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to process improvements within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Receive, log, and verify incoming specimens and samples Ensure specimens are accurately labeled and meet submission requirements Enter and QC sample data using LIMS and laboratory documentation systems Resolve discrepancies by collaborating with internal teams Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and downstream testing workflows Assign unique accession numbers and facilitate sample movement Inspect specimens for quality, proper collection, and packaging Communicate with program management, clients, and laboratory staff to resolve issues Perform quality checks on deliverables, ensuring customer satisfaction Centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare samples for testing; maintain proper storage and chain of custody Maintain accurate specimen records and comply with lab safety/SOPs Monitor, manage, and restock inventory of lab supplies Participate in continuous training and contribute to lab process improvements Required Skills and Experience 2-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience with focus in sample receiving and accessioning Proficient with data entry and LIMS/Lab Documentation Management Systems Strong attention to detail and quality control Effective communication skills for cross-team collaboration Ability to follow SOPs and maintain regulatory compliance Preferred Skills Experience with specimen shipment preparation and QC Familiarity with clinical trial sample handling Previous involvement in lab process improvement projects
