Industrial Laboratories services a wide spectrum of industries with an emphasis on drug testing services for racehorses, sled dogs, livestock. Job description We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented laboratory professional to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) instrumentation. In this role, you will prepare samples and perform analytical testing on complex biological and forensic matrices. The ideal candidate has experience with routine laboratory operations, hazardous chemical handling, analytical accuracy, instrument optimization, and adherence to laboratory procedures. Responsibilities
    Instrument Operation and Maintenance:
    Proficiently operate ICP-MS systems to ensure accurate results and reliable performance. Perform routine and preventive maintenance, instrument calibration, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
      Sample Preparation:
      Prepare samples for analysis using dilute-and-shoot, acid digestion, and microwave digestion techniques. Also prepare calibration and QC standards according to established method procedures.
        Data Analysis:
        Review, interpret, and report analytical data, maintain complete and accurate records, and adhere to company SOPs. Plan work, prioritize tasks, and help meet deadlines under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor.
        • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Follow company QA/QC procedures to ensure accurate, reliable results. Perform quality control checks to verify compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other regulatory standards.
        Safety, Compliance & Facility Management:
        Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Follow safety protocols and use required PPE. Handle and dispose of chemicals, solutions, and hazardous waste safely in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and good laboratory practices (GLP). Minimum Qualifications
        • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental science, or a related scientific discipline.
        • At least one year of professional laboratory experience in analytical testing; experience in trace element or metals testing is preferred.
        • Hands-on experience operating ICP-MS instrumentation.
        • Strong understanding of data integrity, traceability, and compliance-driven testing.
        • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
        • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform routine office tasks, including computer work.
        • Proficiency in spreadsheets and written procedures.
        • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
        • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive laboratory tasks.
        • Experience using balances, pipettes, and other laboratory equipment.
        • Comfort working with acids, hazardous chemicals, and biological matrices. Preferred Qualifications
        • Experience in a metals testing laboratory analyzing blood (serum), urine, and hair samples.
        • Proficiency with LIMS software.
        • Experience with Syngistix or similar ICP-MS software.
        • Knowledge of sample preparation methods.
        • Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and laboratory accreditation requirements.
        Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required. Relocation benefits are not available for this position. This position is expected to be posted through June 30, 2026.

        In person Benefits Industrial Labs offers a generous benefit package including paid time-off, 10 paid holidays, health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. The company pays 90% of employee's health, dental and vision premiums and 50% of dependents' premiums. The company pays 100% of the cost of short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance for the employee only. 401k matching is available after one year of employment. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
