Job Description

Full-Time Biological Laboratory Technician SeaCrest Group is actively seeking a motivated biology and/or environmental science technician at our laboratory in Louisville, CO. The laboratory performs Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) testing, as mandated by the EPA and CDPHE; we have clients located throughout Colorado and New Mexico. This is a heavily biologically-based environment revolving around WET testing and maintaining the health of the species used in testing. This job involves being at a lab bench for a large part of the day.
Duties:
  • Package and ship sampling kits to clients
  • Process clients' water samples by logging them into a computer and analyzing for temperature, hardness, alkalinity, chlorine, ammonia, pH, and conductivity
  • Perform regular quality control checks on laboratory instrumentation
  • Perform Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) tests with fathead minnow and freshwater cladoceran, according to EPA and CDPHE guidelines
  • Culture aquatic species to be used in tests; monitors the health of the species using close attention to detail via visual analysis Qualified candidates will offer the following:
  • AS/BS in Biology (in-progress okay), Environmental Science, or related science degree
  • this is not a chemistry position
  • At least 6 months experience in a laboratory setting, or related course work
  • Close attention to visual detail
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
Hours:
Tuesday
  • Saturday 8am-5pm
