Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role based in Spring Valley, DC. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, and follow standardized procedures to ensure precise and timely results. Daily responsibilities include preparing samples, labeling and handling specimens, recording and verifying test data, and assisting with quality control checks. The role involves adhering to safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and cooperating with other team members to support efficient lab operations. The Laboratory Technician will also communicate clearly with supervisors regarding test issues, equipment performance, and workflow improvements. Potential for growth within the company, with the ability to obtain sponsored certifications following a minimum service period of 8 months. Early sponsorship will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. This role is an ideal fit for individuals looking to pursue medicine/ medical school, as it offers the potential for paid clinical experience/hours, a letter of recommendation from the laboratory director, and exposure to the diagnostics utilized by physicians in the treatment and patient care process. Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency with laboratory equipment and basic laboratory skills.
  • Experience in quality control procedures and adherence to established laboratory protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in performing tests and documenting results.
  • Understanding of the responsibilities and best practices expected of laboratory technicians.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and proper handling of biological and chemical materials.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with laboratory staff and management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in a laboratory-related or science field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel locally and perform on-site sample collections in accordance with respective
DOT/NON-DOT
Protocols. (Miles covered for onsite collections will be reimbursed accordingly)
Pay:
$23.49 - $26.70 per hour
