reviews $23 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Sleep Therapy Support Technician to join our team! In this patient-facing role, you will support individuals diagnosed with sleep apnea by helping them get started with their sleep therapy and encourage compliancy with their CPAP or BiPAP therapy. You'll be responsible for conducting in-office setups, educating patients, performing mask fittings, and troubleshooting equipment—ensuring every patient has the tools and confidence to succeed in their sleep therapy. The ideal candidate has experience in sleep therapy, respiratory care, or PAP related DME services and is comfortable working with patients both in person, via phone or video.
Position Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients during scheduled in-office visits for sleep apnea equipment setup or follow-up. Educate patients on obstructive sleep apnea, therapy goals, and how to use CPAP/BiPAP equipment effectively. Conduct mask fittings, comfort assessments, and pressure evaluations to ensure patient compliance and satisfaction. Set up and verify PAP equipment and supplies, ensuring accurate documentation and equipment tracking. Review and explain telemonitoring results using platforms like ResMed AirView, Philips, EncoreAnywhere, or similar. Address patient concerns, troubleshoot equipment or mask issues, and document all interactions appropriately. Coordinate with referring physicians, sleep labs, and internal teams to verify prescriptions, paperwork, and insurance. Assist with office inventory and supply organization, ensuring the availability of masks and related equipment. Provide ongoing support for patients struggling with therapy compliance through education and follow-up care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal documentation standards. Skills/Qualifications Associate degree or healthcare training required. Certification (such as RPSGT, CRT, or Certified Sleep Educator) or multiple years supporting CPAP/BiLevel patients. At least 1 year of experience in a sleep clinic, respiratory therapy, or PAP related DME setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP equipment and sleep apnea therapy best practices. Comfortable using electronic health records and remote monitoring platforms (e.g., AirView, EncoreAnywhere). Ability to communicate effectively with patients via phone and video conferencing software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and support patients effectively. Patient-focused with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
