Lab Support Assistant II Quest Diagnostics - 3.5 Miramar, FL Job Details Full-time From $17.75 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Employee stock purchase plan Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Matching gift program Flextime Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Lab Support Assistant II - Miramar, FL, Tuesday to Saturday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM Pay range: $17.75+ per hour; employee may be eligible to receive shift differential of 10% for some or all hours worked on second shift and 15% for some or all hours worked on third shift. Additional details on shift differential will be provided if an offer is extended. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

The Lab Support Assistant II sorts through discarded waste from Specimen Processing area identifying biological specimens. The incumbent actively supports and complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Quest Diagnostics honors our service members and encourages veterans to apply. Sorts through all discarded waste consisting of paper and biological material. Delivers any biological specimen to Lab Support Supervisor. Rebags and disposes all sorted waste appropriately. Adheres to all established laboratory safety requirements. Required to use (a) personal protective equipment, (b) engineering controls and/or work practice controls as directed by management. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by competent authority. "
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Physical activity: stooping; kneeling; crouching; reaching; pushing; pulling; lifting; fingering; grasping; feeling. Light work (exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to move objects); visual acuity; exposure to biological specimens, biohazard materials and chemicals.
Knowledge:
Proper specimen handling techniques.
Skills:
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
