Job Description

We are seeking a
  • _Laboratory Technician_
  • to join the Nagy lab at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St.
Petersburg, Florida. The Laboratory Technician will work in the Nagy lab to support an interdisciplinary research program focused on macrophage biology and the tumor microenvironment (TME), with a primary emphasis on pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). The Laboratory Technician will contribute to ongoing projects investigating how transcription factors and epigenetic regulators shape macrophage states and influence tumor-immune interactions. The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory processes and follows routine protocols under close supervision.
  • Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • + Operate standard equipment.
+ Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques, such as RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, basic flow cytometry, histology support. + Assist with laboratory maintenance, prepare solutions, and order supplies. + Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes. + Other duties as assigned. _In addition to the duties described above_ + Support in vivo and in vitro experiments. + Assist with mouse colony management, tissue processing and sample preparation.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • + High school diploma or graduation equivalent. + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • + Some science coursework and/or training certificate from a technical institute.
